'The Seeds Beneath the Snow' is a non-profit association founded in the spring of 2006. It is based in Pisa, Italy. Il 25 gennaio viene sequestrato nei pressi di una stazione della metropolitana del Cairo. Il corpo viene ritrovato il 3 febbraio; l'autopsia rivela torture prolungate per diversi giorni: fratture, frustate, tagli da oggetti appuntiti, inflitti mentre era cosciente.
Tra la fine del 2023 e il 2024 sono stati avviati i primi cantieri. A partire dall'ottobre 2025 le operazioni sono entrate nella fase di scavo e movimentazione dei terreni contaminati riaccendendo le preoccupazioni dei cittadini residenti per la possibile dispersione di polveri inquinanti.
