The proposal to suspend the EU-Israel agreement was launched by Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia over war crimes against the Palestinian population and in Lebanon. However, Italy and Germany vetoed the proposal.
Last Thursday, activists of the RentStrike network organized an anti-eviction picket to save an elderly resident of Rome, victim of an irregular lease, from a life of homelessness, thanks to an appeal to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. They had done so in May for a similar case.
